On August 5, 2025, an Into Mischief colt topped the Saratoga Select Sale, bringing a final 🥕 of $4.1 million. At the same sale in August of 2019, this son of Into Mischief brought not quite that much…a $525,000 yearling, Tiger Groom is actually the opposite of a racehorse, much to the disappointment of his buyers on that night in 2019.
“Tate” didn’t race…he didn’t even go to the track….He said “I want to dance!” He has evented through local Beginner Novice, including taking his middle-aged AA owner around an itty bitty Horse Trial without issue.
On 10/12/25, Tate competed in his first Hunter Pace, going out First Flight with an experienced group of horses….he found his stride & loved every minute of the experience. Water, ditches, logs, full out gallops, rough terrain, & standing patiently at the checks, we may have found the thing he loves most! Kept time with our competitive group, coming in only 4 minutes under the Optimum.
On 10/26/25, Tate competed in a Jumper Show, in both the 2'3" & 2'6" Divisions. Piloted by a Junior rider who had never sat on him before that day, he turned in clear, fast rounds, & brought home blue ribbons! Videos available via the link below.
Absolutely no funny business, he would be suitable for Fox Hunting. He could also be ready to go Novice in a very short amount of time.
Tate is the same horse every day, with no vices & a sweet personality. Over the last 90 days he has been ridden by Junior Riders as young as 12yo, been jumped by both a 14yo & 17yo who had never been on him, had Adult Riders up to 65yo bounce around on him, & packed a 21yo Amateur around the Hunter Pace without batting an eye….he is worth his weight in gold.
He wears front shoes, & frankly if that’s a deal breaker for you, you should take your shoes off too. He’s a relatively easy keeper & he’s easy on the eyes. It’s not hard to see why he commanded such an impressive price as a yearling. Trailers well, ties to the trailer patiently. No vices, great legs. UTD on everything & ready to go.
